Prayer and Intercession June 28, 2017

6/29/2017

Every Wednesday evening we gather for intercession for the restoration of Israel. The following is shared with you to help you in your own praying and interceding
These are prayer directions
rather than prayer points.

We want to leave room for the Holy Spirit to lead you and your group to pray as you are led.

Feel free to pray for only the points that you connect with or in the order you feel led to.

If at any time you want to be removed from the list, please write us at:

Do you need encouragement to pray? (Especially for revival)

Then Hear/watch this talk:

The security situation in the Middle East is very unstable

Israel is surrounded by much upheaval and turmoil. To our north, Hezbollah is active in amassing cutting edge weapons, threatening Israel and getting ready for the day it will attack. In Syria, both Russia and Iran are involved in aiding the regime against rebels in a horrific civil war. Iran’s strategy is to try to create a presence on our northern border with Syria. In our south, ISIS is very present in the Sinai Peninsula, and of course, there is Hamas in the Gaza strip.
We read 2Chro 20 It is clear from that story that prayer changed the outcome of the war! It is also clear that the enemy’s sheer number and its strength were overwhelming and raised a real and great danger to Judah (2Chro 20:3, 12)

So it is today!
In His prayer, Jehoshaphat:

  • Confesses God’s greatness as God in the heavens and ruler of kingdoms (2Chro 20:6)
  • Reminds the Lord that we are His people and that it was He who gave us the land (2Chro 20:7)
  • Establishes that God had committed Himself to hear the cries of His people when they came to His house
  • Pleads with God for the need of Judah to be helped in this war.
At no time does Jehoshaphat base his prayer on Judah’s goodness, righteousness or worthiness!

God’s answer was to confuse the enemy. They turned one against the other (this is happening in a great measure today as well) and defeated themselves. That is how Judah won the battle.

  • We prayed for the Lord’s protection of Israel’s borders, especially in the north
  • We prayed for God’s sovereign will regarding Russia’s involvement in Syria
  • We prayed for wisdom to be given our nation’s leaders as they deal with developments.
  • We prayed for the confusing of the evil intents of those nations who are bent on our destruction
The redemptive issue in all of this is:

Psa. 83:16  Fill their faces with shame,  That they may seek Your name, O LORD.Psa. 83:17  Let them be confounded and dismayed forever;  Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, Psa. 83:18  That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD,  Are the Most High over all the earth.

Praying for our country’s leaders
In Ezekiel’s vision of the end-times, God speaks to him about the leaders. They were to care for the people and provide a covering for them.

Ezek. 45:8 …..My princes shall no more oppress My people, but they shall give the rest of the land to the house of Israel, according to their tribes.” Ezek. 45:9 “Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Enough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness, and stop dispossessing My people,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezek. 45:17 Then it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the feasts, the New Moons, the Sabbaths, and at all the appointed seasons of the house of Israel. He shall prepare the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the house of Israel.”

  • We prayed for a leadership that would be truly imbued with a true sense of justice and compassion to care for the people.
  • We prayed for a breaking of the hold the religious parties have over the coalition, as they force the government to back off from laws that would bring equity and equality for the citizens of Israel.
  • We prayed for great wisdom for our leaders as they deal with the leaders of the superpowers, the US and Russia. And as they navigate the treacherous waters of Middle East politics
The physical and spiritual restoration of Israel
Luke 21:24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
Rom. 11:25  For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

The verse in Luke speaks of the political restoration of Israel to the land. Romans speaks of the spiritual restoration of the Jews to God.

In Luke, we see the end of the rule of the Gentiles over the land of Israel, in Romans we see the fullness of the Gentiles gathered unto the Lord. A wonderful prospect!

  • We prayed for the gathering of the Jews to the Land from exile (the diaspora)
  • We prayed into the contested issue of the land itself (the world does not recognize Israel’s historic right to return to the land of promise.)
  • We prayed into the motion presented by the Palestinians to UNESCO to declare Hebron a Palestinian world heritage site. Including the burial cave there where our forefathers are buried.
  • We prayed for the spiritual restoration of the Jewish people to God through Yeshua their Messiah and King. (Reveal your son, O Lord!)
The Body of Messiah in the Land
Ex. 39:42  According to all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. Ex. 39:43 Then Moses looked over all the work, and indeed they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, just so they had done it. And Moses blessed them.Ex. 40:34  Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

When all the work for the Tabernacle was done, Moses inspected it and found that it was all done according the the will of God, the pattern, God had shown Moses. They obeyed and built it according to God’s Word. When they assembled it all, adhering to the Lord’s instructions, God filled it with His Glory!

  • We prayed for the Body of Messiah to conform to the Pattern in the Word
  • We prayed for the Body of Messiah to be cleansed, revived, and filled with God
  • We prayed for the revival of the Word of God in the the Body.
  • We prayed for a healthy body, fitting for the head — Yeshua.

Praying for the restoration of Israel through the promise of His Coming in Great Glory
Ezek. 43:1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, the gate that faces toward the east.Ezek. 43:2 And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.Ezek. 43:3 It was like the appearance of the vision which I saw—like the vision which I saw when I came to destroy the city. The visions were like the vision which I saw by the River Chebar; and I fell on my face.Ezek. 43:7 And He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever. No more shall the house of Israel defile My holy name, they nor their kings, by their harlotry or with the carcasses of their kings on their high places.

Without getting into the fine points of eschatology, three things are clear from these verses:

  1. The Glory of the Lord will return to this land and city - that means Yeshua is coming back to this land, its people, and to His city.
  2. It will be permanent
  3. God will sanctify His people once and for all, forever!
These promises are meant to create in our hearts a great longing and desire for God. They are meant to be fuel of our hope, and our faith and prayers. The restoration of Israel is all about the Lord coming back. It is the final and highest thing.

These promises include in them, all of what leads to their fulfillment — that is all that must happen before the Lord comes back. (See Eze 36 for instance).

  • We prayed for the veil to be removed in Messiah — 2cor 3:14
  • We prayed for the outpouring of the Spirit of Repentance (grace and supplication) by which God will open the eyes of the Jewish people to the crucified Messiah. Zech 12:10
  • We were touched with a great longing for God and took some time to pray for His return! - It is His passion too - “I will dwell in them  And walk among them. I will be their God,  And they shall be My people.” (2Cor 6:16)
  • We prayed - for the promised cleansing of our people (Eze 36:25) (What a great burden uncleanness and sin are to a nation!)
  • We prayed for the New Heart promised to us as a people (can one imagine such a thing? A whole nation receiving a different heart? “create in me a clean heart”, cried David.
Praying for the salvation of Muslims during Ramadan
It is interesting to note that on the temple mount, on the dome of the rock’s inner walls, there is an inscription that denies the deity of Yeshua, and His Sonship. (for those who want to look further: See Here: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/History/Islam/Inscriptions/DoTR.html  especially lines 7-10.

The tragic thing is, that in denying the deity and Sonship of Yeshua, the muslims block their own way to salvation. See 1john 2:22-23

  • We prayed for the Lord to break through to many during this month of Ramadan
  • We prayed for revelation, through any means God chooses, to many.
  • We prayed for the Holy Spirit to convict many of the truth of Sin, His Grace and the Cross.
Praying for the Body of Messiah
Rev. 19:7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”

The goal and end of all of God’s working in His people, in His Body is her union with Him.
  • We prayed for the recapturing of the heart of God’s people back to Him.
  • We prayed for a great awakening in the many congregations and a return to the Lord Himself. From her many works to God (see Revelation 2:1-7)
  • We prayed for the Lord to come to us, His house, and cleanse it from all things that offend, from all things that are flesh, from all things that are a compromise.
Praying for the Government of Israel
If Israel is like a ship, there are many among her leaders who think they are the ones who know how to steer Israel aright. Be they Left, or Right, or Religious, or whatever, everyone is sure that their way is the only way that is good for Israel.

  • We prayed for the Lord to keep Israel on the coarse he has plotted.
  • We prayed for the leaders of the nation for wisdom, cooperation for Israel’s ultimate good.
  • We prayed For the divine intervention of the Lord on Israel’s behalf as she steers through all the pressures of the nations, who have their own vision of how Israel will fit into their plan.
  • We prayed for guidance to be given to government as they assess Israel’s existential threats on all sides.
  • We prayed for leaders who would care for the people, who will make laws that are a reflection of His heart to bless His people. (See Ezekiel 36:29-30 as an example)

Thanks for standing with us for all the will of God to be done in these last days. All for His Glory alone!

Prayer and Intercession June 14, 2017

We looked at the verses below as an encouragement to be steadfast in intercession for the restoration of Israel.

Heb. 10:35 Therefore, do not throw away your  confidence, which has a great  reward.
Heb. 10:36 For you have need of  endurance, so that when you have  done the will of God, you may  receive  what was promised.
Heb. 10:37    FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,    HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
Heb. 10:38    BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH;   AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.
Heb. 10:39 But  we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the  preserving of the soul.

2Cor. 5:7 for  we walk by faith, not by  sight --
  • Do be encouraged to believe God is hearing our prayers, especially as we pray His Word to Him.
  • Do NOT throw away your confidence - in Him, for it has a great reward. We shall see the answers come from God!
  • Do endure! that is your great need. Stay the course! Keep Praying! And after that, wait patiently to receive the answers. They will come. He will come!
  • Do Believe in Him We walk by faith and not by sight, or it can be said in another way: Faith is a different kind of seeing. It is a seeing of Him rather than of the seeing of circumstances or conditions. Now we do not see all things under His feet (yet), but we see Yeshua!

We prayed for the salvation of Israel
Rom. 11:26  and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,   “ THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION,   HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.”

A good starting point for praying for Israel’s salvation and God’s unfolding agenda, is found in Ezekiel 36, especially Eze 36:22-38, clearly reveals God’s main concern and motive for all the goodness He is about to do — His name, His glory!

We prayed for Israel’s government, security, economy

Ezek. 34:23  “Then I will  set over them one  shepherd, My servant  David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd.
Ezek. 34:24 “And I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant  David will be prince among them; I the LORD have spoken.
Ezek. 34:25  “I will make a  covenant of peace with them and  eliminate harmful beasts from the land so that they may  live securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.
Ezek. 34:26 “I will make them and the places around My hill a  blessing. And I will cause  showers to come down in their season; they will be showers of  blessing.
Ezek. 34:27 “Also the tree of the field will yield its fruit and the earth will yield its increase, and they will be  secure on their land. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have  broken the bars of their yoke and have delivered them from the hand of those who enslaved them.
Ezek. 34:28 “They will no longer be a prey to the nations, and the beasts of the earth will not devour them; but they will  live securely, and no one will make them afraid.
Ezek. 34:29 “I will establish for them a  renowned planting place, and they will  not again be  victims of famine in the land, and they will not  endure the insults of the nations anymore.
Ezek. 34:30 “Then they will know that  I, the LORD their God, am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are My people,” declares the Lord GOD.
Ezek. 34:31 “As for you, My  sheep, the  sheep of My pasture, you are men, and I am your God,” declares the Lord GOD

These verses clearly speak of the return of the Lord, This is how things will end up, with Yeshua ruling over His people Israel, and caring for them (as a shepherd). He will be just, righteous, merciful, judge with equity. It will be a huge relief to Have Yeshua as our leader, King, master and ruler. No corruption, no oppression; only blessing to those wanting and willing to live under His rule.

  • We prayed for our government and for leaders - that God will bring into places of authority, people who would be led by a true sense of compassion for the people, a real desire to see the wellbeing of the poor and needy, and who would shun corruption on any level, whether personal or public.
  • We prayed that Israel will no longer be a prey to the nations - vs28 - We prayed for the Lord to protect our nation from “harmful beasts” (vs. 25) those leaders in the world who would push this nation to serve their own agenda. We prayed for the security of Israel from the nations and terror organizations around us (Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and the like). We prayed that we might live securely (vs 28)

We prayed for the Body of Messiah
  • We prayed for the Christians in Arab lands. They are experiencing cruelty, persecution and suffering on an unimaginable scale.
  • We prayed for missions and missionaries who are serving in Moslem nations There are some very brave missionaries in those very lands where Christians are being persecuted. They are boldly reaching out with the gospel and with humanitarian aid. Some are also serving in places like Greece, where many Syrian refugees have fled to. The need is great.
  • We prayed for the Sanctification of Body of Messiah in the Land  1Th. 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: The Body of Messiah in the Land of Israel is an amazing miracle, it is no doubt a planting of the hand of God. Yet, as in days of old (one only has to read the Bible), it is greatly challenged, seduced, and attacked. We need the Lord, we need His cleansing power, we need the real Holy Spirit to come and cleanse us, as described by Malachi 3:3-4

Thanks for standing with us for all the will of God to be done in these last days. All for His Glory alone!
