Praying for Israel on
Remembrance Day - 2010
Thus says the Lord, “A voice is heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; She refuses to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.”
Jer. 31:15
Remembrance Day - 2010
Thus says the Lord, “A voice is heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; She refuses to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.”
Jer. 31:15
Take a few minutes today, to pray with us for Israel. It is Remembrance Day today; a day set aside to remember and mourn the loss of 22, 684 soldiers and security personnel who have fallen defending the Land of Israel since 1860. That year was the first year in which the first Jews began to leave the confines of the Old City wall of Jerusalem to settle the Land outside Jerusalem’s city walls. This day comes one week after Holocaust Memorial Day in which Israel remembered the 6,000,000 Jews murdered in the Holocaust.
The sense of the growing hatred around us and the expressions of the murderous longing to wipe Israel and the Jews off the face of the earth, by such leaders as Ahmadinajad of Iran, only serve to intensify our prayer and longing for the Lord to fulfill His Word and promise.
Take a few minutes today to pray with us, and as you pray these scriptures, no doubt you will sense the presence of the Lord, for this Word is the expression of His heart and will and desire.
Jer. 31:1-4 At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
- Lord, let your grace come upon your people today
- Lord let thy lovingkindness draw your people to yourself.
- Let the hope blessing and joy percolate in the hearts of all those who mourn.
Jer. 31:11-13 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow (be radiant NASB) together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
- Lord let thy people know the power of salvation upon them today as you come to rescue them
- Let your goodness and mercy flow upon your people and make them radiant as they experience your grace coming upon them.
- Satiate the souls of the weary and of those who mourn with the comfort of your love.
- Turn their mourning into Joy and make them rejoice from their sorrows.
Jer. 31:16 -17 Thus says the Lord, “Restrain your voice from weeping, And your eyes from tears; For your work shall be rewarded,” declares the Lord, “And they shall return from the land of the enemy. “And there is hope for your future,” declares the Lord, “And your children shall return to their own territory.
- Lord bring back our captives from our enemies’ land.
- Bring your people back from exile into their own territory
- Let blessing and safety and goodness replace the sorrow of all that this nation has endured throughout the ages.
- Fulfill your promises Lord and make Israel secure in its own territory for your will is the end of all disputes over this Land.
- Give your people a sense Hope for their future, when there seems to be no end in sight to the fighting, bloodshed and loss.
Is. 25:1 O lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; For Thou hast worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.
- We acknowledge your perfect faithfulness, your power and wonders with which you have redeemed us, saved us and protected us throughout the ages.
- We give thanks to your name O’ Lord. We belong to you, you are our God. We will exalt you and honor your name.
Is. 25:4-9 For Thou hast been a defense for the helpless, A defense for the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall. Like heat in drought, Thou dost subdue the uproar of aliens; Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.
- Lord, even as we weep our enemies rejoice and plan to annihilate your people. Defend us O’ Lord.
- Be a our refuge and strong tower.
- Subdue the uproar of the Nations O’ Lord.
- Overshadow your land with thy wing
And the Lord of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine. And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations. He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”
- Lord reveal your son on “this mountain”.
- Lord remove the veil cast over all the nations.
- Lord come in thy power - remove death from us for all time.
- Lord wipe away tears from all faces, especially the faces of your people.
- Remove the reproach of your people, appear in Zion and let thy Glory fill the Land.
- Save us O’ Lord and we will rejoice!
